The series was based off the historical figure Spartacus who was a Thracian Gladiator who was the leader of a slave rebellion in the Roman Republic. The show was broadcast internationally, and has created a cult figure across the globe. Concerning her personal life, she married Antonio Beliveau who is a musician.
