Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books. She is also the co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student who was elected to this position. She was a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years after, she created an online platform to voice opinions that offered criticisms on the political landscape. Her celebrity status helped her by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent in California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. She was also involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their list and in the same year Guardian named her to the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made the president of this group. This included many AOL properties of that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, an expert in management and a journalist. Although she had a close friendship with both her father and mother but it was their connection that shaped her. She was a leader even in her early years. As a 16-year-old the girl moved into England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his help.
